Bio:
I have lived in California since 2007. I completed my undergraduate in Indiana and before that I lived in many parts of the world (mostly Botswana, Bolivia, and Argentina). My undergraduate degree is in T.E.S.O.L. and I have always been interested in serving students who have not been given the most equitable of opportunities in education. Mostly focusing on high school students, I have worked alongside migrant, homeless, immigrant, unaccompanied, and foster youth. I am pursuing a Master’s Degree in the Cultural Perspectives and Comparative Education emphasis and I am excited to use the experience of this degree to better serve the populations I have worked with and will continue to work with in the future.

What I hope to accomplish as the GSAE VP External Affairs:
I am excited to be on GSAE because I put a lot of value in the representation of others’ ideas, interests, and beliefs. By representing fellow students of GGSE, TEP, and CCSP I hope to be able to hold up the interest of as many students as possible. I want to be able to work with other students in the School of Education to continue the excellent work that the previous GSAE Council has done. Since I move around quite often in my lifetime, one of my goals, wherever I am, is to build meaningful community with others. I hope to continue building community and wish to bring in others in the department so that together, we can make this period in our lives a significant one.
