The GSAE is continuing the UCSB GGSEmentoring program to connect incoming Department of Education graduate students with current students.
This program will help new students feel more connected to the Dept. of Ed community and it will help new students build a relationship with someone they can contact for advice, feedback, and help.
Mentoring Program Details
If you sign up to be a mentor, you must be able to complete the following:
Establish guidelines with your mentee (how often you will be available, how you prefer to be contacted, how much time you plan on spending with your mentee)
Communicate with your mentee at least 2 times a month (in-person, e-mail, phone, skype).
Time Requirement
The time you spend as a mentor is up to you. You can be available for questions or you can setup a get together over coffee. Typically, you'll spend less than an hour a month as a mentor and you will be making a huge difference for your mentee.
