Year: 2nd Research Focus: Children Learning of Proportions Program: Child and Adolescent Development Contact:msoni@umail.ucsb.edu
Short Bio:
My research interests include the development of children's learning of math skills such as proportions and women in the STEM field . I have a B.A. in psychology in UCI and worked in many research labs including a biology lab and a cognitive thinking lab which focused on gauging children's counting ability. I am really into student council work and am excited to be on this board. I have a strong passion for tutoring and even enjoy TA work. In my free time I like to sing in a choir and write poetry.
What you hope to accomplish in your GSAE role:
As VP of external affairs, I hope to come up with new workshops that are useful for people in Education. I also hope to keep the mentor and mentee program alive and effective within the education department and to be a helpful representative for Education for GSA.
